Explore Lincolnshire’s Transport and Engineering history with these interactive sessions. Visit the extensive collection of machinery and consider how transport has changed in the last two hundred years.
Test your experimental skills by considering such ideas as how steam engines work and how a tank or other tracked vehicle can move across a field. This session focuses upon aspects of History curriculum and STEM (Science, Technology , Engineering and Mathematics).
This workshop includes all of the following:
Transport Tour: Interactive Museum Transport Gallery tour and experiments with transportation through the ages.
Engineering: Pistons and Levers hands-on science workshop making simple machines and supporting the development of experimental skills. Learn how levers, catapults, pistons, cam shafts and steam engines work! Pupils dress up as ‘scientists’, carry out experiments using simple equipment to understand how the fabulous inventions of the nineteenth century worked.
