Take a journey through the prehistoric period and see how life changed from the Stone Age to the Iron Age. Explore the way of life, animals and landscapes and handle real and replica artefacts.
Our collection includes the remains of the strange creatures that roamed Ice Age Lincolnshire and some of the prehistoric treasures that have come from the watery depths of the River Witham.
Our workshop sessions include:
Museum Investigation – Prehistoric Life and Technology brought to life.
Digging Prehistory – Explore the Prehistoric finds in a mini dig.
Life in Prehistoric Lincolnshire – travel back in time and discover early humans hunting for food, developing language and learning how to farm in our mock documentary or choose Rocky’s Stone Age Adventure for younger children (which includes decision making activities to find out how people lived in Stone Age Lincolnshire).
The sessions include artefact handling and creative art activities, for example cave painting or Iron age shield making.
Please note: Rocky’s Stone Age Adventure will be available from Spring 2022
