This workshop offer can include an exploration of a variety of creative arts skills and techniques linked to the topic of Identities.
The workshops are based upon the exhibitions and collections and provide opportunities to Investigate, Create and even learn how to design your own exhibitions.
We encourage learners to engage positively with the art works and to demonstrate creative thinking and develop skills such as communication and empathy skills. Learners will be inspired to create their own art works.
From Autumn 2020 this offer will link to a themed loans kit offer with art examples from the Usher collection. Watch out for updates and our new Investigate Learning on Tour section.
Recent Creative Arts and Identities workshops have focussed upon the exploration of a variety of portraits in the galleries in order to create two dimensional and/or three dimensional creative art designs.
The learning objective included a focus upon deepening understanding of artists methods in the devising of portraits and self-portraits. Other themes of identity can also be explored further in the sessions.
This workshop offer can also include work with visiting artists when they are in residence. We will discuss the area of focus with you and design a timetable to suit.
Workshop themes can include:
‘Investigate’ session: Guided learning experience in the galleries and exhibitions. Also includes object handling
‘Create’ session/s: Options to choose from include drawing, painting, mixed media, clay work. Choose two of these if you are not choosing the design session.
‘Design your Exhibition’ session: Meet the learning and exhibition teams to learn about exhibition design and how to plan your own displays.
